Westcon Group Leverages Cross-Divisional Expertise in Delivering Solution for Resellers
TARRYTOWN, NY, October 3, 2006 — Westcon Group, Inc., a multi-national distributor of convergence and IT security solutions, announced that it is engaging its cross-divisional resources where appropriate to help resellers succeed in delivering solutions that integrate two or more foundation vendors.
Each of the Group’s divisions, Comstor, Voda One and Westcon, are increasingly leveraging one another’s knowledge base, including recently introduced programs such as ConvergencePoint, SecurityPoint and OneDefense -- these programs help increase opportunities for resellers by providing easy access to resources.
For example, Voda One, whose core foundation vendor is Avaya, plans to increase solution provider opportunities requiring an advanced knowledge of Cisco infrastructure by leveraging the expertise of sister division Comstor. Voda One BusinessPartners can access Comstor’s Cisco-oriented advanced technology expertise and product engineers and therefore participate in multi-vendor opportunities that also involve Avaya communication platforms.
In a recent sourcing study by U.S.-based channel publication CRN, Westcon Group was rated the leading distributor in the area of product knowledge/expertise. The Company’s aforementioned programs provide a single point of access to its knowledge pool, while also serving as an interdivisional resource for Comstor, Voda One and Westcon.
